About The Course

Bored of the same old holidays? Why not try something different and opt for a residential felting course!

During your time at Gartmore House, you’ll have the chance to testout a whole host of felting skills. Flex your creativity under the watchful eye of our hugely popular, enthusiastic and creative tutor, Ewa Kuniczak (co-founder of the International Feltmakers Association). With Ewa’s help you’ll leave with several finished pieces and a whole new appreciation for all things felt!

In 2024, Ewa will be offering a series of different classes focusing on diverse & exciting approaches to felting.

On the week commencing Sun. 6th October 2024: 'Mixed media Felting'
Did you know you can felt, wood, metal, stones, and even found objects,
as well as fabrics and non-woollen fibres? With felting methods that I
have developed over the years, you can discover these for yourself.
Furthermore, by applying additional materials, you can transform them
into sculptural free-standing objects.

There might not be any felting courses near you but with these felting courses you’ll be able to rest, relax, and recharge in the beautiful surrounds of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
With over 40 years of experience in creative textiles and practising as an artist and teacher, Ewa (pronounced ‘Eva’) thrives on using her skills to help others achieve their potential. Ewa excels at instilling confidence in her students, so that they are able to develop their ideas and master the technical skills involved in felting.

Ewa’s over-arching experience in the principles of Art and Design and flexible approach ensure that her courses include a wide range of textile disciplines. You’ll come away from one of her felting breaks with beautiful creative pieces and the skills to continue felting at home.
Many of her students have heard of Ewa from other felters, or are returning to enjoy further courses.
