A photography activity holiday at Gartmore House gives you the chance to improve your skills in relaxed company and comfortable surroundings. Stay 4 nights arriving Monday afternoon on a full board basis, departing after breakfast on Friday with some new skills and some great new images and ideas to work on once back home.
|Please call for details on the 2016 dates||£495pp|
Our photography holiday is aimed at beginners, to give you an introduction into photography (primarily landscape); we purposefully do not take large numbers to allow our tutor to give you personalised instruction based upon your level of experience.
Arrive at 3pm on the Monday to afternoon tea in the lounge and a warm welcome from Cameron, your tutor.
During the week you will work on a number of different photography projects from landscape, to slow shutter speed, to dark night photography (weather permitting). You will also get the opportunity to learn how to use an editing suite, and pick one of your own photographs from the week to edit.
Spend the evenings in our lounge where we provide a variety of entertainment which could include a history of the house with its wonderful tale of politics poetry and passion, quizzes and games, or if you choose, continue work on your photography skills.
Departure is after breakfast on Friday.
You will need to bring your own equipment with you, using either an SLR, DSLR, bridge or crossover camera.
Depending on the weather we have planned many outdoor sessions, so being in Scotland, we suggest you pack appropriate wet weather clothes!
Cameron is a professional photographer based in Gartmore village. He became interested in photography at a young age, and graduated from West College Scotland. He has undertaken a wide range of commercial work including media, fashion, events and wedding photography.
It is fair to say his true passion lies with the art of landscape and nature photography. On a clear evening you will often find him out shooting vivid sunsets or capturing star trails once the sun has gone down below the horizon. Most recently, he has been combining nature with creative photography techniques to capture the movement of trees and grass in the wind to produce fine art images.
He enjoys nothing more than searching for that elusive perfect photograph, camera in hand…
Gartmore House has 23 en-suite bedrooms many with wonderful views. Tea & coffee making facilities available in all rooms, comfortable lounge, dining room and library to relax in and 75 acres of grounds to enjoy.
We may be able to help with pick ups from Stirling Train Station by prior arrangement.
